Ms. Curtis - PE

 Ms. Curtis

Hi I'm Ms. Curtis. This is my 14th year teaching and my 1st year teaching at Rockledge elementary. I'm split between two schools so I am not at Rockledge every day. I love exercise and hope to inspire students to lead healthy lives and teach them some new games and healthy habits. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and taking my dog Trouble on long walks.

Ms. Possinger - PE

Sara Possinger

Hello! I am Miss. Sara Possinger and I am thrilled to join the Rockledge nest as a Physical Education teacher!

I recently received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, and Health Education with a School Health Concentration from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

As a teacher just beginning my career, I am passionate and dedicated to foster a love for movement, fitness, and overall well-being in my students. Some of my interests outside the classroom include singing, playing instruments, spending time with friends and expanding my small photography business.  I look forward to an exciting year filled with fun and fitness!

Ms. McBride - Music

Delaina McBride
Mrs. McBride is a Texas native that fell in love with clarinet and music in the 6th grade. She holds a bachelors of Music Education from Baylor University. After graduation, she taught middle and high school band in the DFW and Houston areas for 13 years.
After moving to the Northern Virginia area in 2013, Mrs. McBride has enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Aiden and Connor. She has been actively involved in the Rockledge community since 2014 as a volunteer, PTA member, and substitute teacher.
Mrs. McBride is extremely excited to be teaching her favorite subject again: MUSIC!!!

Mr. Lampley - Art

Stone Lampley
My name is Stone Lampley.
I graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s in art education and a minor in Disability studies. I am very excited for the opportunity to teach art here at Rockledge!

Ms. Tice

Ms. Tice

I’ve been teaching since 2018 and love creating a classroom where children feel safe, curious, and excited to learn. I’ve taught 2nd and 3rd grade and previously worked as a theatre teacher, focusing on the behind‑the‑scenes parts of productions like lighting, sound, and set design. That experience helps shape my STEAM classroom, where students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and learn by trying new things.

I especially enjoy helping children see how subjects like science, math, and reading connect to each other and to the world around them. My goal is for students to feel confident, capable, and joyful as they discover new ideas, work together, and grow as learners.

When I am not teaching, I love to craft, travel and spend time with my son, Obi!

Ms. Wiesner - Library Media Specialist

Beth Wiesner

Ms. Wiesner earned her BA in English from Penn State University and her M.Ed. In School Librarianship from Longwood University.
She was a publications coordinator for a museum in Ohio and the managing editor of a gardening magazine.
At Rockledge, she has worked as a phonics tutor, a kindergarten teaching assistant, and an ESOL teacher. This is her 8th year as a librarian.
Her favorite picture book is Farmhouse by Sophie Blackall, and her favorite novel is Greenwild by Pari Thomson.
Ms. Wiesner's three kids went to Rockledge; they are all grownups now. In her spare time, she likes to make quilts, read books, ride her bike, and drink iced tea.

Ms. Johnson - Library Media Assistant

Julie Johnson

I'm Julie Johnson and I have been the Library Media Assistant at Rockledge for over 20 years.

I moved to Prince William County when I was in 6th grade.  I attended Woodbridge Middle and graduated from Woodbridge High.  I went on to study Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.
My sister and both of my sons attended Rockledge beginning in kindergarten.   So, I have been a proud member of the Eagle family for a long time.

The students are the reason I'm here, and yes, I do make it a priority to know ALL of their names!

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my three dogs.  I also enjoy reading, crocheting, and watching ice hockey.

I look forward to another amazing year!

Every Child, Every Eagle, Every Day..... We are Rockledge!
