Welcome to 3rd Grade!

I am so excited to begin the 2024-2025 school year at Rockledge Elementary. I look forward to getting to know everyone. We're going to have so many fun experiences together!

I graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education. My educational WHY is to foster curiosity and creativity in my students - to not just guide them to the answers but also to encourage them to come up with and research their own questions and to grow the skills they need to become lifelong learners.

A few of my favorite things are cats, jellyfish, learning about (and solving!) new mysteries, and trying new kinds of food!

Ms. Dookie

Ms. Dookie is entering her 3rd year teaching third grade at Rockledge Elementary and holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education.

Though her passion for education developed later in her career, she has a genuine love for learning and is always seeking knowledge to better serve her students.  Ms. Dookie believes that every child is unique and strives to create a classroom environment that caters to all students and abilities. She is looking forward to another amazing year at Rockledge Elementary where she gets the opportunity to see both herself and her students grow!

Ms. Touwsma

Ms. Touwsma
My name is Mrs. Corinna Touwsma, and I am thrilled to be your child's 3rd grade teacher this year!
I was born and raised in Queens, New York, I graduated with a degree in elementary education and mathematics. In 2021, I made the move to this wonderful community with my husband and our dog.
I previously worked as a 3rd grade teacher in Arlington for 3 years, and I am excited to bring my passion for teaching to Rockledge.
I firmly believe that creating a welcoming and positive classroom environment is essential for fostering each child's growth. Every child has the capability to succeed in school while having fun, and I am dedicated to supporting them on that journey.
I look forward to a fantastic year ahead in 3rd grade, filled with learning and joy!
